Guiding Young Lives Towards Healthy Futures
Diabetes Fiji recently joined hands with the Sai Prema Foundation to focus on improving the lives of young people living with Type 1 diabetes. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by children and adolescents managing this condition, the partnership aims to provide targeted support, education, and resources to help them lead healthier and more independent lives.
During the program, the educational session was conducted by Ms. Inger Wang from Australia, who is based at Sai Prema Foundation. Ms. Wang provided valuable guidance on blood sugar monitoring, nutrition, physical activity, and emotional well-being, equipping young participants and their families with practical knowledge to manage Type 1 diabetes effectively.
Diabetes Fiji extends its sincere appreciation to the Sai Prema Foundation for hosting this program and for their continued commitment to supporting young people living with diabetes. Through initiatives like this, both organizations are working to raise awareness, promote early detection, and empower young people to take control of their health. By prioritizing the needs of this vulnerable group, Diabetes Fiji and the Sai Prema Foundation are reinforcing their commitment to building healthier communities and supporting young lives affected by chronic conditions like diabetes.
